NOTE: Fresh ginger is very hot (spicy) by nature and has been used for centuries for all kinds of stomach ailments. If you are new to ginger, remember….less is more! When sweet is added to hot it is more easily tolerated and digested.
2 qt sauce pan
2-4 inches of fresh ginger root
2 Limes juiced
2-4 Tbsp CannaHoney Simple Syrup to taste (see link for recipe)
1 litre of water (hopefully filtered).
Prepare your ginger by slicing into small pieces, like this:
You do not need to peel your ginger since it will be strained. The peel will darken your drink, so if you like a lighter colour, feel free to peel the ginger but it does no harm by using it naturally.
Bring water to a boil. Add ginger and turn off the heat. Allow to steep for 15 minutes up to 2 hours. The longer you steep it, the spicier it will be!
Strain the Ginger from the water.
Add Lime Juice and CannaHoney Simple Syrup, stir to combine. Chill until ready to serve. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Serve over ice.
